Órzola sits at Lanzarote's far northern edge, a small white village between dark lava and the sea. Many visitors know it as the departure point for La Graciosa ferries, but it also works as a compact coastal pause: walk the harbour, look back towards the volcanic slopes and decide whether to explore nearby shores as a separately planned outing. The transport handoff needs discipline. Intercity line 9 and the passenger ferries have separate operators, tickets and timetables, so build in margin and never assume that a bus is timed to meet a boat.

Walk the working harbour
The harbour gives the clearest sense of Órzola's purpose, with local boats, ferry movement and views back towards the village. Stay aware of operational areas and use signed passenger access rather than treating the waterfront as an uninterrupted promenade.
Read the volcanic landscape
Black rock, pale sand pockets and low white buildings make the north coast visually distinct from Lanzarote's resort strips. The official island map is a useful overview, while any walk to a nearby beach needs its own route, conditions and return assessment.

Confirm the line 9 departure back to Arrecife before leaving the village or boarding a ferry. A delayed or changed sailing does not guarantee that the bus will wait, so protect the final feasible return with time to spare.
