The practical part
The essentials
Check the last bus to your base before you fly
Open the board below, pick your destination and the day you land, and read the last departure. Puerto del Carmen and Playa Blanca ride line 161; Arrecife has 22 on a working weekday and 23 at the weekend; Costa Teguise is the Arrecife bus plus line 3, so the last line 3 from Arrecife is your real limit, not the airport bus.

Landing late: the honest plan B
Aena tells arriving passengers to take a taxi only from the rank at the terminal and to ask for a receipt. Line 61's one late departure from T1 and the late 162s heading for Arrecife are printed on the board, so you can see whether one of them fits before you commit to the rank. A first night in Arrecife or Puerto del Carmen beats a long ride to a resort that is asleep.

Flying early: the first bus and a margin
Read the first departure towards the airport for your day on the board. From Playa Blanca the morning 161s leave the Estación; from Arrecife the first 22 or 23 leaves the bus station and calls at the Intercambiador. If the first bus plus your airline's check-in does not add up, sleep the last night where the airport bus is direct.

A recent change to know
From 1 October 2026 line 22D, the shuttle from the Intercambiador to the airport, stopped, and line 22 took over with an expanded timetable that calls at the Intercambiador on five airport-bound trips. An old blog or a cached map may still show 22D; the board below shows what Intercity printed on the dates it was read.

After the date changes, the next day's date
Read the last rows of a day's tab carefully. A late bus that keeps running after the date changes is listed at the end of the day it started on, but it runs in the early hours of the next date: landing late on a Sunday, the bus you find at the bottom of the Sunday tab runs on Monday's date. When you tell a driver, a host or a taxi app when you arrive, use the next day's date.

Allow for baggage reclaim before the first bus you can see
The gap between your landing time and a bus is not the time you have. Leaving the aircraft, any passport control your flight needs and, with a checked bag, baggage reclaim all come first, and Aena publishes no typical wait for any of them. Do not plan on the bus that leaves soonest after your scheduled landing; plan on the one after it, and keep the Terminal 1 taxi rank as the fallback.

Which resorts have a late or early bus?
Puerto del Carmen and Playa Blanca: line 161 all day, then the 61 and the Arrecife-bound 162s in the evening. Arrecife: 22 or 23 from early morning to late evening; the board has the first and the last. Costa Teguise and Haría: only through Arrecife, which adds a change your evening may not have time for. Famara: through Arrecife too, or from Costa Teguise; the Famara guide has both boards. The late-night gap is real: no bus runs through the small hours.
Line 162 goes to Arrecife, whatever Aena's page says
Intercity's line page runs the late 162s from Playa Blanca via Puerto del Carmen and the airport to Arrecife. Aena lists those airport calls under destination Playa Blanca, which reads as if the bus went the other way. The operator's page wins: a late 162 at the terminal is heading for the capital, and the board here shows it under Arrecife only.

Where the times come from
The board is built from Intercity's line pages read on dated days for each airport line, with a checksum for every page, and it withdraws its times after the show-until date it prints. The airport guide has the same block with every stop; this page keeps the first and last in view for the planning you do the night before.

Asked and answered
Questions people ask
Is there a night bus from Lanzarote Airport?
No airport bus runs through the night. Line 22 runs to Arrecife on a working weekday and line 23 takes over at the weekend, and the last buses south are line 61's single late trip and the Arrecife-bound 162s. The board below shows the exact times for your day; after them, the terminal taxi rank.

What if I land after the last bus?
Take a taxi from the rank at Terminal 1 arrivals, as Aena advises, and keep the receipt. If your base is Costa Teguise or the north, consider a first night in Arrecife or Puerto del Carmen instead of a long, unplanned ride.

How early does the first bus to the airport leave?
It depends on your base and the day. Read the first departure on the board for your date, remember the weekend uses line 23, and add the Arrecife change if you are in Costa Teguise or the north. The site's airport guide shows every stop on the way with its time.
The other half of the plan
And the way back.
Decide the night before: the first bus from your base on the board, plus the Arrecife change if you have one, plus your airline's check-in. If that sum does not work, a taxi from the rank or a last night in Arrecife or Puerto del Carmen is the honest answer.
