The practical part
The essentials
Read the tab for your day, not today's
A Sunday table is not a Saturday one: the airport line switches from 22 to 23 at the weekend, line 20 to Famara printed no weekend trips on the dates read for this site, line 7 to Haría prints more at the weekend, and lines 60 and 62 run the same table every day. Open the board for the day you travel and read the return column, not the outward one.

Choose the bus before the last one
Intercity publishes departure times, not arrival times, and nothing on its pages promises a connection. If your way home needs a change in Arrecife, the last bus on the second leg is your real limit, and the first leg has to land you there with time to walk between the bus station and the Intercambiador if the two legs use different ones. Take the departure before the one that looks just right.

Know your stop and ask for it
Stops are named after landmarks (Hotel Jameos, C.C. Biosfera, Deiland), and the boards on this site list every stop a departure calls at, so learn the name of yours before you set out. On board, Intercity asks you to request your stop in advance and to leave by the rear door where possible; on the way home that means watching for the stop before yours.

If you miss it
At the airport, Aena's advice is the taxi rank at Terminal 1 arrivals, with a receipt; in a resort, the rank or your accommodation's number. This site names no transfer partner on Lanzarote and will not pretend a bus exists after the last one printed. A first or last night in Arrecife or Puerto del Carmen, both on direct airport lines, is often simpler than a long late taxi.

Where the last departures are published
On this site's dated boards, which print what Intercity published on the day each page was read, with the stop each departure leaves from, and withdraw their times after the show-until date they print; the operator's line page, which shows one date at a time, is the source each board cites. Intercity posts notices at any time, so on the day the notice at the stop wins over anything here.

The returns that need extra care
Órzola and La Graciosa: line 9 is the only bus, and the ferry is a separate booking, so leave a generous margin at the harbour. Jameos del Agua: not every line 9 departure serves the stop, and the line page lists the ones that do not, so check the bus back as well as the bus out. Famara: line 20 printed nothing at the weekend, and line 31 from Costa Teguise is the other way home. Teguise on a Sunday: line 11 runs between Costa Teguise and the market, and line 7 is the way back to Arrecife; leave the market with time to find the stop. The Papagayo coves lie beyond the last stop of line 30, so the walk back to Las Coloradas is on your clock, not Intercity's.

After the date changes
A late bus that keeps running after the date changes is listed at the end of the day it started on, but it runs in the early hours of the next date. The late 162s from Playa Blanca via Puerto del Carmen and the airport to Arrecife are the case to know: they are heading for the capital, whatever an airport page implies, and the board shows them under Arrecife only.

Asked and answered
Questions people ask
When is the last bus on Lanzarote?
It depends on the line and the day, and this site will not put a time in a sentence: the dated board on each journey guide and destination page prints the last departure for a working weekday, a Saturday and a Sunday, with the stop it leaves from. Read the tab for your day before you go out; the board is the answer, and the operator's page is only its citation.

What if I miss the last bus?
A taxi from a rank, or a night where you are. At the airport, Aena says to use only the rank at Terminal 1 arrivals and to ask for a receipt. Nothing on this site offers a bus after the last one Intercity printed, and no app or blog can conjure one.

Do Sunday buses run on public holidays?
For the holidays of 12 October and 2 November 2026, Intercity published the Sunday timetable on every line this site read for those dates, except the market line 11, which printed no trips; the boards treat both dates as a Sunday. Later holidays were not checked: on one, open the Sunday tab yourself.

The other half of the plan
And the way back.
Pick the return from the tab for your day before you leave, take the departure before the tight one, learn the name of your stop and ask for it. If the plan does not add up, a taxi from a rank or a night in a base on a direct line is the honest answer.
