Before you travel
State your destination before paying
Tell the driver where you are going before validating a bank card. Bank-card payment is permitted.
Use cash within the operator’s rule
Bring the exact amount in coins where possible; otherwise Intercity accepts a banknote of no more than €10.
Keep the ticket and store bags
Keep the ticket until the end of the trip. Put suitcases in the luggage hold where available and keep an eye on your belongings.
Travelling with children and buggies
Children under four travel free when accompanied by an adult and not occupying a seat. Pushchairs must be folded and placed in the luggage hold.
Bicycles and scooters
A bicycle or scooter may travel only folded in the luggage hold, where the bus has one; one is permitted per person.
Wheelchair or pushchair: a checklist
1. Ask about your departure, not the line: Intercity gives a wheelchair priority over a pushchair on board, but its customer page names no accessible vehicle for any line or trip, so before you travel ask about the exact departures you plan, there and back (+34 928 811 522, [email protected], or the desks at Arrecife bus station, the Intercambiador and Playa Blanca bus station). 2. A pushchair travels folded in the hold. On a bus without a hold it may ride unfolded on the platform, secured, on urban runs only; on other runs it stays folded so it does not block the aisle, and it always gives way to a wheelchair. 3. Children under four ride free only with an adult and without taking a seat. 4. Suitcases go in the hold where the bus has one. 5. At the airport, Aena's barrier-free assistance is a separate service: request it at least 48 hours before your flight through your airline, Aena's website or app, or +34 91 321 10 00. On arrival it takes you through baggage reclaim to a meeting point; it does not put you on the bus.
