Where to go on Lanzarote, and how the bus gets you there

Playa Blanca and Papagayo
Getting there by busFrom the airport, line 161 is the regular daytime route to Playa Blanca; from Arrecife, compare lines 6, 60 and 62. Papagayo itself has no bus, which is why the catamaran listings sail there from Puerto del Carmen or Playa Blanca.
Getting there by busLine 161 from the airport serves Puerto del Carmen’s landmark stops before continuing south and calls at Puerto Calero in both directions; from Arrecife, use line 2. Line 161 cannot be used for a journey wholly inside Puerto del Carmen.
Getting there by busThere is no verified Intercity route to the Montañas del Fuego entrance; line 60 serves Yaiza, a planning base and not the park. A tour with pickup is the car-free answer for Timanfaya.
Getting there by busIntercity line 7 runs from Arrecife through Teguise to Haría and Máguez, line 20 to Caleta de Famara, and line 9 to Órzola calls at Jameos del Agua on some departures only. From Costa Teguise, line 11 runs straight to the Teguise market on Sundays.
Getting there by busLine 9 from Arrecife to Órzola, then a separately booked ferry to Caleta de Sebo. Neither source promises a protected connection, so leave a generous margin in Órzola.
Getting there by busFrom the airport, line 22 on working weekdays or line 23 at weekends reaches Arrecife; for Costa Teguise, change there to line 3, the all-day bus.
Most of it: Intercity Lanzarote’s lines from Arrecife reach Teguise, Haría, Famara, Órzola and the resorts, with a dated board on every guide. Timanfaya and Papagayo are where a tour is the answer.
Which listings collect me, and which start where the bus stops?
The island highlights tour lists pickups in Arrecife, Puerto del Carmen, Costa Teguise and Playa Blanca; harbour boat trips start where the bus stops. Check the meeting point on each listing before booking.
How do I get back after a tour?
Pick the return you intend to catch from the dated board on the destination page before leaving, and leave a generous margin wherever a ferry is part of the day.
Does this page show prices or departure times?
No. Prices, availability and meeting points stay on GetYourGuide; departures are on this site’s dated boards and change with the operator’s timetable.
